Ryan Thomas and his trusty bikeSponsor the Phoenix Iron Man

Local footballer Ryan Thomas is on the last lap of his training programme for the 2011 Iron Man championships in Austria later this summer – and it’s all in aid of the Phoenix Project in Goodwick. The daunting event includes swimming two miles and cycling 100 miles, followed by a marathon 26-mile run; all in one day.

For over a year Ryan’s training regime has involved swimming 50 pool lengths three times a week, 50 miles a week of running sessions and cycling over 100 miles every week. And this has been on top of his commitment to football training sessions and Saturday matches! We now appeal to you to match Ryan’s commitment with cash sponsorship toward the new Phoenix Community Centre, being built on the site of the old Fishguard & Goodwick Sports Club.
