Warm welcome waiting at Pembrokeshire Velo

On Sunday, 17th April, the Pembrokeshire Velo Cycling Club will be holding a ‘Come and Try it’ Time Trial to welcome prospective new members to the exciting world of cycle racing. A map of the route, including the signing-on area is available on the club’s website; www.pembs-velo.co.uk.
It’s the perfect opportunity for anyone who’s ever wanted to test themselves against the clock, whether you just want to race yourself, or see how you compare to your friends.
The trial will be held over a course of approximately two miles, starting in Waterston, proceeding up Scoveston Road to the Sentry Cross roundabout, before retracing back along the Scoveston Road and finishing just prior to the turning to Neyland.

Minimum age entry

Entry is open to anyone over the age of 12 and competitors can sign up on the day, the first riders will be starting at 10.00am but we would encourage entrants to aim to arrive around half an hour before to sign on, the price for entry is £2 for adults and under-18s can ride free of charge.
Riders MUST wear a safety helmet to take part and can do so on any form of bicycle, so long as it is in roadworthy condition. It is also highly recommended that riders have a flashing red light fixed to the rear of their bike to enhance their visibility to other road users. The day will also provide an opportunity to talk to current members, who’ll be able to answer any questions about cycle-sport, and newcomers are guaranteed
