Luke Hamilton reprievedLuke’s delighted at ‘red card’ reprieve

Luke Hamilton hails from Pembroke and has had a wonderful season as a back or second row with Cardiff Blues which has resulted in him being chosen for the Blues’ first XV on a couple of occasions and has seen him continue his international recognition with selection for the Welsh Under 20s which took on their counterparts from Scotland in Sterling last weekend.

But Luke’s wonderful weekend turned sour after 78 minutes of the match, which Wales won convincingly by 33-3, when he was grappled to the ground by a Scottish forward and after the ensuing melee had resulted in a real skirmish amongst both packs, Luke was horrified to be shown, along with his opponent, the first red card of his career!

Mum was watching!

To make it even worse, mum Helen, born and bred in Pembroke, and dad John, who hails from Sterling, were in the crowd and were just as stunned as Luke was!

But all’s well that ends well because Luke appealed the red card and after travelling to London to state his case was thrilled, and very relieved, that the red card was rescinded!

It means that Luke is available for the other Welsh matches and we at PembrokeshireSport.co.uk wish this modest and very likeable young man much further success because he really deserves it!
