Cricket Statistics – FULL Season : 2010

Scourfield and Caine cap the lot!

The end of season cricket statistics compiled by Whitland statisticians Paul and Janice Webb, for the 2010 season, show that Nick Scourfield is again ‘Mr Reliable’ as the Carew opening bat tops the poll with a massive 675 runs at an average of 56.25.

Scourfield had three 50s and a century in his 16 innings but leading the way in terms of consistency was second-placed Phil Williams, the Cresselly opener having seven half centuries from 14 innings and 589 runs at an average of 58.90. Karl Rhead finished third with a creditable tally of 584 runs (average 41.71) whilst his Haverfordwest team mate Simon Holliday marked his first season in the county with an amazing 473 runs in only eight innings and an unbelievable average of 118.25!

Brilliant Danny is a real star
On the bowling front, there is something of a surprise because Danny Caine, from Saundersfoot leads the way with 42 wickets, six ahead of the chasing pack, and can rightly claim to be Pembrokeshire’s top all-rounder since he also ended up a creditable 12th in the batting. Not content with that, Danny is also the only batsman to score two centuries in first division cricket during the campaign – and had the top bowling figures of 8 for 35, so well done Danny!
Cresselly’s stalwart swing bowler Richard Harries was second in the bowling chart with 23 wickets, just in front of Neyland skipper Andrew Miller, with another skipper in Whitland’s Mark Lee in fourth.

Real all-rounders
As well as Caine’s all-round skills, other all-rounders who featured in both batting and bowling top 20s were Nathan Banner (Herbrandston), Kyle Quartermaine (Narberth) Nathan Banner (Herbrandston), Steve Lewis (Lawrenny), Ian Hughes (Narberth), Nick Cope and Matthew ‘Titch’ Davies (Whitland). So well done lads – and another big thank you to Mr and Mrs Webb for being such local cricket anoraks!
