Del boy salvages pride by narrowly beating The Expert
but yet still finishes up a loser!
After losing last week Derek Roberts fought back with a narrow 3-2 victory over The Expert on Saturday. Derek got one correct score line to pick up a maximum two points as Merlins Bridge hammered Monkton Swifts five-nothing. The Expert is mystified whether they are carrying on from last week’s score. If that’s the case then Del boy still trails by three points – but if this a one off then obviously Del boy wins. So now some ground rules have been established– The Expert’s word is final – so never mind Derek, you still realistically lost because the final score is now The Expert 22 - Del boy 19. Good luck next season!
‘El Del’ given another chance
The Expert must be feeling full of Easter kindness because he has decided that since it is now too late to smash another opponent this season he will allow Derek ‘Del Boy’ Roberts the chance to redeem himself a little by giving him another week in which to haul back some of the four points that Haverfordwest County’s Pembrokeshire League manager trails behind.
“I really do think ‘Rocko’ Roberts is one of the nice guys of Pembrokeshire Football but his tipping is a bit like his playing,” said our resident Mr Angry, “when I used to run rings around him. I owe him a bit of an apology because at the start of our challenge I said he was a left back with two right feet but my memory isn’t quite what it used to be – he was a right back with two left feet!”
Our ace tipster was jubilant after his win last Saturday over the popular Mr Roberts.
“I knew that a man of Rocky’s age couldn’t stay the distance. His better half told us he has been poring over fixture charts with his chewed-down pencil and scraps of paper so I will put him out of his tipping misery, once and for all.”
Del Boy simply smiled and said that if he can’t win this season there is always another chance next season – isn’t it nice to see such a pleasant attitude? When he heard that The Expert simply gave a hoot of derision and said that is why ‘Rocko’ is a loser and he is the best footballing pundit in the county!

Neyland are a useful side and I think they will be at least two goals better than Clarbie.Tenby 2 - Goodwick United 2
Two of the best five teams in the county are meeting here and after so much football I think they will cancel each other out.Herbrandston 2 - Kilgetty 1
Kilgetty nearly beat Hakin but I think Herbrandston will just about be too strong for them on their own patch.Merlins Bridge 5 - Monkton Swifts 0
This is real top versus bottom stuff and the only decision is by how many goals Merlins Bridge will win!Hakin United 3 - Narberth 1
Narberth played well at Goodwick and will travel to Hakin hoping for a win but I think the Vikings will be able to snatch a win here. The Expert’s Scorecasts
