The Expert claims the big scalp of Bluebirds' boss Derek Roberts
It really wasn't a good day for Derek Roberts. His Bluebirds outfit lost 3-1 against derby rivals Merlins Bridge, his beloved Manchester United lost 2-1 at home against Chelsea, and to top it all he was beaten 5-4 by the Expert - who convincingly won 20-16. "I have the utmost respect for Mr Roberts because he typifies all that is good in Pembrokeshire football," said the Expert. "He's done a tremendous job leading the Bluebirds this season, but he's not the best tipster in the county and now has to concede and acknowledge and say that the Expert is the best - it's as simple as that."
Derek needs a ‘Rocky’ come-back
Derek ‘Rocky’ Roberts needs a comeback of similar proportions to his nickname namesake from the boxing films if he is to snatch the verdict in his final week of competition against a much pumped up opponent in The Expert.
Our resident tipster was jubilant after grabbing a two-point win last Saturday over the popular Haverfordwest County manager, thus taking him into a three-point lead and looking hot favourite to beat Mr Roberts.
“I only wanted a full programme to show my talents but even with two games called off, and they were banker bets for me, I knew that a man of Rocky’s age couldn’t stay the distance.
“My mole in the Roberts’ camp told me that at least he had the decency not to try and involve his neighbour ‘Pricey’ – although it wouldn’t have made any difference because he only a fluked a result against me because of the weather.
“I still think that ‘Del Boy’ is one of the most likeable fellers in local football but I have to do what I do best – and that is to show how rubbish some of these local managers are at forecasting even their own games.
“Come Saturday night he’ll be another on my scrap heap but I have decided I will give him another chance next season because, like good wine, he might get better with age!”
We tried to evince a comment from Derek but he said that he would prefer to let his selections do the talking for him - but he said that The Expert might not be so chopsy on Saturday evening so we have to wait until then to see what happens in this particular jousting event!

Rocky’s Results Forecasts
Division One:
Clarbeston Road 1 - Tenby 3
Tenby will win this one because they have a solid defence – and Clarbie will concede a few goals!Goodwick United 2 - Narberth 3
This is bound to be a tough one but I think that Narberth will edge through, especialy if they play like they did against us.Hakin United 4 - Kilgetty 1
You have to go for Hakin at home against Kilgetty and I think they will win by at least three goals.Haverfordwest County 2 - Merlins Bridge 1
I really believe we can win this one! We pushed them all the way in the semi-final and are really up for this local derby.Monkton Swifts 3 - Prendergast Villa 1
The Swifts have had a bad run but should win this at home, especially if Dan Scourfield is going well.Pennar Robins 3 - Herbrandston 1
Pennar showed good form last weekend and with home advantage they should win with a little to spare.Solva 2 - Neyland 2
These teams drew 3-all last week and look well-matched so I’ll go for a draw again this weekend at Maes y Mor!The Expert’s Scorecasts
