Unsung Hero:

Stuart started out in junior rugby coaching 32 years ago

Stuart Lewis – Junior Coaching Organiser, Pembroke Dock Quins

Winner, Unsung Hero Category

Stuart Lewis - Unsung HeroAdmiration is a word seldom used these days, but everyone associated with Pembroke Dock Harlequins & Pembrokeshire Junior Rugby would say that Stuart Lewis is one of the most highly respected men they would ever have the pleasure to meet.
For 32 years the Quins’ junior section has been extremely fortunate to have Stuart as chairman, coach and supporter, with his devotion, support and loyalty to developing the future of this club unlikely to be matched.

Total commitment

Until 10 years ago, everything within the junior section, including its organisation, communication and financing was carried out by Stuart, with pride and passion. Fellow coaches, committee members, children and their parents alike are in awe of his gentleness, his sincerity and long lasting compassion for each child that has passed through his hands over these past 32 years, which include almost all of the current Quins’ senior players. Stuart is also founder member of the Pembrokeshire Junior Rugby Association and we really believe he deserves recognition.

Ronnie Beynon, Coach, Haverfordwest County Youth and Pembrokeshire College Academy

Ronnie Beynon & FamilyFinalist, Unsung Hero Category

Ronnie Beynon’s commitment to football is unquestionable.
Ronnie is heavily involved at Haverfordwest County AFC with the UEFA Academy. He is the administrator for all age groups from the Under 8’s coaching centre through to the youth teams. He often steps in to coach some of these teams, marks the pitches, sweeps the changing rooms and attend various meetings on behalf of the club. You will also always catch him down at Bridge Meadow when the firsts are playing (doing some job!).
In addition to this, he coaches at the Football Academy in Pembrokeshire College, assists Solva AFC as and when he can, and always helps the Sport Pembrokeshire team to host the Primary Schools festivals (usually hosted at Haverfordwest County AFC), where he probably does a three man job himself! Ronnie has been around the football circle for some time and he deserves to be recognised for his commitment and passion for the wonderful game.

Phil Devonald – Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League Youth,
Fixture and Registrations Secretary

Finalist, Unsung Hero Category

Phil Devonald has been involved with the Pembrokeshire Association Football League (PAFL) for 22 years and has fulfilled the following roles:
1987 – current: Youth Secretary and Fixture Secretary
1993 – current: Registrations Secretary (all age groups)

In addition to these roles on the League Council he is also a Life Vice-President and does any job that needs doing within the league such as up-dating the league web site, ensuring that the local media is informed of league up-dates. To be honest the list is never-ending for Phil, who does a great job for the league and is also totally committed to his home village club of St Ishmaels, where he is held in high regard. He is a likeable and approachable man who never gives up and should be recognised for this long-term commitment and achievement.
