WINTER CRICKET COACH EDUCATION COURSES

AUTUMN 2009–10

The Pembrokeshire Association of Cricket Coaches is, once again, preparing for an Autumn Programme of Coach Education as one of the autonomous regions of the CBW Pyramid System for the development of junior cricket in Wales . The aim is to progress further the improvements that have been made in forging stronger links with the schools, and strengthening the coaching capability to further develop the recent achievements in Dragon and County Squad coaching, resulting in international honours for several of our young cricketers (boys and girls) with one or two going on to represent the South West of England, and full England teams; Andrew Salter (St Ishmaels CC) actually captained the England Under 15’s team at Lords.

To this end, the PACC have prepared a stimulating winter programme of coach education courses and workshops, dragon coaching and county squad training, which will help prepare the coaches and young cricketers of the county for the demanding, but enjoyable, times ahead, commencing with the following coach education courses and workshops for new and existing coaches. All the courses will be held at Tenby Leisure Centre except where indicated otherwise.

New UK Level 2 Course

To enable coaches to coach in schools; by developing the skills of the teachers and coaches, cricket can have a positive impact on whole-school improvement by widening and developing the PE curriculum.

COACH DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

Designed for coaches who wish to further develop their coaching skills in specific areas and/or prepare for the ECB Club Coach Award, or Level 3

Community Chest funding is available for all the above courses and workshops, and grant application forms can be obtained by contacting Mr Alan Jones at County Hall (Tel 01437 776191 or e-mailing alan.jones@pembrokeshire.gov.uk). It is essential that these forms are completed and returned to County Hall by Mon 31 Aug 09 in order to meet the next Community Chest Panel Meeting, as grants cannot be given in retrospect.
