. . click here for actual results . .I achieved seven correct forecasts last week in nine matches, with Tenby United letting me down at Dinas Powys and Crymych proving me wrong at Glyncorrwg (well done lads – I knew I could inspire you to success). Let’s see if I can do better this week!
Division One (West):
Whitland v Carmarthen
Whitland have played three matches and won them all so far but this could be their toughest test so far as they play Carmarthen Athletic, who have won two of their three matches.Whitland to win but it could be a tough tussle!
Maesteg v Narberth
The Otters showed real attacking verve last week and if they can repeat that sort of form they might do well against a Maesteg side which has lost two of its four matches.I think the Otters will be able to secure enough good ball to beat the Gwent side despite playing away.
Division Three (West):
Haverfordwest v Amman United
The Blues have won one and drawn one of their opening four fixtures but they have been against clubs who are likely to do well. This week sees them take on Amman United, who can boast a 100% defeat record so far.No doubt about it – a big win for the Blues!
Laugharne v Crymych
Crymych played well at Glyncorrwg in the Welsh Cup and have already won two out of three league matches, but Laugharne are traditionally strong at home and will be eager to build on their current 7th spot having won one and drawn one of three games played. It will be close but I think Laugharne will edge it at home.
Llanybydder v Cardigan
Llanybydder occupy 11th place with three defeats from as many starts after the excitement of promotion last season. They are traditionally very strong at home but there is confidence aplenty in the Cardigan camp after their 100% start to the season. The Teifisiders should have too much fire-power but it could be a real battle before they secure the spoils.
Division Four (West):
Pembroke v Burry Port
Pembroke and Burry Port have both lost two out of three league games but the Scarlets are slowly getting back to form after two thumping wins in league and Welsh Cup have raised their confidence.Pembroke to win and perhaps secure a welcome bonus point.
Pontarddulais v Pembroke Dock Harlequins
The Bont have won just one match in three so far whilst the Quins have won two out of three starts so they should hold a slight edge. The problem for the Quins is getting a strong side on the bus.I believe the Quins can snatch this verdict – if they play to their potential!
Tenby United v Bettws
Tenby United slipped up in the Welsh Cup last week and will be eager to make amends at Heywood Lane against a Bettws side which has won two out of its four matches so far.I’ll take the Seasiders to snatch the spoils here.
Division Five (West):
Fishguard & Goodwick v St Davids
This is always one of the more hotly-contested local derbies and both sides are eager to get stuck in. Fishguard start as firm favourites against the Saints, who won their last away match at Llangwm, and coach Alan Phillips will look to the experience of Huw Evans to steer them home. The Seagulls to win after a good battle!
Llangwm v Furnace
Llangwm take on Furnace with only one win from three matches whilst the visitors have secured two wins in three starts but at Pill Parks they will be hoping to be at something like full strength. If the Wasps buzz they could win but I think Furnace might just be too hot for them!
Milford Haven v Swansea Uplands
Milford Haven have made a cracking start with three wins out of three games played whilst the Uplands are currently bottom of the pile with three defeats from as many games.Plain sailing for the Mariners – with a bonus point!
Pontyates v Neyland
Neyland travel to Pontyates, who have lost their opening two fixtures but will be hoping to get a win with home advantage. The All Blacks must start winning on the road so hopefully will start here.Neyland to win – if they they don’t catch travel sickness again.
