Anita leads another SAW surge in top weightlifting

Anita Madan, of Strength Academy Wales, competed in the British U20 Championships last weekend, held in Yorkshire and achieved first place, gold medal and the British title.
 
Anita has been extremely focused during the past months of training leading up this event and performed with an exceptional amount of determination to Snatch a personal best of 66kg and equal a personal best of 75kg in the Clean and Jerk.
 

More exciting news

 
Anita’s coaches Simon Roach and Jim Horner were delighted with her performance and other exciting news this week included the fact that five lifters from SAW have been selected to represent Wales in the Celtic Nations tournament, which will be held on the 5th November at Bangor, where they will be competing against the top weightlifters from Scotland and Ireland. 
 
Selected are Louis Thomas, Alex John, James Hart, Niamh Roach and Chloe Hood, who are all lifters are in the Welsh talent squad and have been training extremely hard over the summer following an excellent team performance back in July at the Gemau Cymru competition.
 

More hard work ahead for SAW

 
It is an event where Weightlifting Academies throughout Wales enter teams of lifters. The SAW Weightlifting team worked hard and lifted strong to gain first place in the team event.
 
Coaches Simon Roach, Justin Head, Naomi Pearce and Jim Horner are now working hard at SAW to prepare the weightlifters for their next major championships.
