Eddie Butler brings The Asparagus Thieves to Haverfordwest
There was a special visitor to Bridge Street, Haverfordwest, on Saturday as former Pontypool and Welsh No 8 Eddie Butler was at the Victoria Book Shop to sign copies of his third novel, entitled ‘The Asparagus Thieves’.
It follows on from his two other books that related the saga of another No 8 in Gonzo Davies, but this story revolves around places and people in Pembrokeshire, intriguingly centred on a walled garden, plus a lively lady from Pontypridd!
In addition, Eddie has written a series of rugby books with Gomer Press and is also highly regarded as a sports journalist who previously wrote for The Guardian and The Times, as well as a very accomplished commentator on international rugby matches with the BBC.
"Eddie is always a very popular writer in our book shop," said owner Mar
ley Davies, "and we are always pleased to see him here."
Eddie braved the snow as he drove down from Abergavenny and was soon signing books for men and women looking for a Christmas treat for their partners; and there are still a few signed copies available at the Victoria Book Shop in Haverfordwest, price £8.95.
