A week of competitive bowling at Pembroke Dock Bowling Club, was concluded by an excellent ‘Finals Day’.  Bowlers from far and wide gathered for the annual Open Week event, held at the Memorial Park bowling green.  The cream of Pembrokeshire’s bowlers battled for the honours on offer at the event.

On Finals Day, the Alfred Phillips Bowl was contested by Richard Jones (Pembroke Dock BC) and Nigel Davies (Whitland BC) whilst Hugh Williams (Pembroke Dock BC) faced Ashley Hooper (Tenby BC) for the Sudbury Bowl.  The first sixteen players to be eliminated from the two principal tournaments went on to contest the Texaco Shield.  The finalists for this event were James John-Davies, who won, and Richard Morgan (both Pembroke Dock BC).
