Pembroke Dock Bowling Club Ladies’ Open Triples Competition:


 
Saturday saw Pembroke Dock Bowling Club stage its 24th annual Ladies Open Triples competition, which was won by Ann Marie Main, Margaret Lewis and Betty James, talented ladies from Pembroke Dock Bowling Club, who won the coveted shield. 
 
The event which was once again well organised by Mr. Gerard Thomas, with 16 teams competing on a round-robin basis, so it was a full day for all 48 experienced lady players from all over the county, with many splendid matches taking place.
 
The home ladies bowled well all day and ran out eventual winners by beating Amanda Lewis (Saundersfoot B.C.), Kath Jenner and Cally Jones (both from Whitland Bowling Club) in the final.   
 
The ladies’ open triples shield was presented by Pembrokeshire County President Mr Richard Hissey of PDBC who had the honour of presenting the shield which was presented to PDBC by his late parents, Ted and Jenny Hissey, in 1994.
 
The ladies from Pembroke Dock B.C. once again excelled in the kitchen, keeping all contestants happy with their excellent catering, and David Finn was thanked for the many hours he spent behind the bar.  Also, many compliments were passed onto the green staff for the maintenance of an excellent playing surface on an excellent day of bowling for the ladies.
