County U15s struggle at Goytre United
Swansea Schools Under 15s 6 - Pembrokeshire Schools Under 15s 1
This game was played under floodlights at Goytre United F.C where Pembrokeshire Schools showed plenty of determination against a strong Swansea squad in the Welsh Schools Cup but lost to a vastly experienced home side.
Pembrokeshire made a good start to the game which went well at 1-1 for a time after Joseph Griffiths had scored with a powerful low shot. However as Swansea drove forward relentlessly, runs by individual players at the visitors’ defence put them under enormous pressure.
Even then good forward runs by the Pembs forwards put the home team on the back foot but by half-time, the scoreline of 4-1 to Swansea put them in a very strong position to win the match.
Pembrokeshire rotated their players for the second half and again gave a brave performance to restrict the home team to two more goals late in the game.
