Jazz Richards signs for the Bluebirds

Richards receives his new Bluebirds shirt from manager Wayne Jones

Haverfordwest County are delighted to announce an agreement to sign Wales’ international, Jazz Richards. The transfer is subject to FAW clearance, which should be received on Monday with Richards available for selection against Aberystwyth if clearance is granted.

Richards has made 14 appearances for Wales at senior level, as well as 39 appearances for Swansea City and turned out 47 times for Cardiff City. He has experience in the Premier League and the Championship with both of these clubs, whilst also being a member of the Wales’ squad that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016. He will bolster the options available to manager Wayne Jones heading into the end of Phase One of the Cymru Premier season.

Chairman Rob Edwards said: “We are absolutely delighted to complete the signing of Jazz. He is a true professional who has played at the highest level for club and country. His ability, experience and knowledge of the game will be a huge asset for the rest of the season and will no doubt raise the levels of those around him too.”

Already trained with The Bluebirds – and really impressed

Richards had trained with the Bluebirds’ squad in midweek and apparently impressed his new colleagues with his skills set that will allow him perhaps to slot in to the midfield or play at the back, where he won his Welsh caps.

He was in attendance for the match against Cardiff Met on Saturday at the Bridge Meadow Stadium, sitting with former chairman David Hughes, and told PembrokeshireSport.co.uk that he was impressed by the set-up at the club and was looking forward to his debut and then helping to play a part in the club’s journey.

Small wonder then that manager Wayne Jones was delighted as he told us, “Having Jazz as a new squad member is brilliant because he brings so much experience and shows the club’s determination to do well at this level.

“His arrival has brought a buzz of anticipation to my squad and we are sure that he will serve Haverfordwest County well in the future!”
