Wheelchair rugby players from Pembrokeshire enjoy festival

The fast-growing junior section of the Scarlets’ Wheelchair Rugby Club travelled to Llandarcy recently to participate in their first festival and seventeen young people from Pembrokeshire represented the club.

The junior festival was an opportunity for players to take part in skills-based activities and to compete against teams from Ospreys, Scarlets, Bristol Bears, Exeter, Gloucester and Solent Sharks, who all took part.

The festival was also a great opportunity to showcase junior wheelchair rugby in Wales and the thriving partnership between the Lord’s Taverners, GBWR and local partnerships with Ospreys, Scarlets, Active Gwent Dragons, the WRU, Disability Sport Wales and the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust.

The Scarlets Wheelchair Rugby Club meets every Thursday at Pembrokeshire College, with juniors age 8-14 years from 6pm-7pm and seniors 15 years to adult from 7pm-8pm.

If anyone is interested in joining the club please contact Jane on 07967 140474.
