There was a full programme of games played in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division and two teams from the county were involved in West Wales Intermediate Cup ties on Saturday.

The shock result of the afternoon was league leaders Hakin United losing 0-1 at home against Pennar Robins. Sean Meaney scored the only goal of the game and takes away the Vikings’ 100% winning record as they slip down the table to third.

Merlins Bridge have gone joint with Goodwick United top with superior goal difference, The Bridge won 3-2 at home against Carew. Steven McNabney, Matthew D’Ivry and Joe Leahy scored for The Wizards, and Scott Ferney and Ian Derbyshire netted for the visitors.

Goodwick United gained a comfortable 4-0 win against Narberth at Phoenix Park with Jonny Horgan 2, Adam Raymond and Tony Evans all scoring.

Monkton Swifts thrashed rock bottom Johnston 13-0, the Swifts’ goal scorers were Ben Adams 2, Martin Carroll 2, Jason Finnegan, Luke Probert and Thomas Doyle.

Angle lost 2-3 at home against Milford United; Chris Richards scored a brace for the homesters, whilst Dany Raicu 2 and Liam Parr scored to secure the points for The Robins.

Tenby drew 5-5 with Lamphey at The Clicketts, Sam Christopher scored five goals for The Seasiders, and The Stags secured a point with goals scored by Josh Dearsley 2, Josh Sture, Mikey Davis, and Danno Kitts.

West Wales Intermediate Cup - 4th round ties


Neyland narrowly lost 3-4 at home to Swansea League Division 2 outfit CRC Rangers. Geraint Rees, Joe Charlton and Justin Harding scored for the Nomads, but the visitors sealed victory with goals from Tom Blackburn 2, Josh Hodgson and Gareth Phillips.

West Dragons have reached the quarter final after winning 1-3 at Neath Premier leaders Cwm Wanderers, the homesters led 1-0 at half time, but The Dragons sealed victory with a terrific second half display with goals by Scott Crawford, Nick Squire and Lee Palmer.
