Ten-man Bluebirds suffer disappointing away defeat

Jack Wilson came off the bench and scoredRyan Hurlow bagged a second half brace to ensure Cwmamman United gained a hard-fought victory at home against Haverfordwest County.

With barely ten minutes on the clock the visitors were reduced to ten-men as striker Ben Fawcett received a straight red card for a dangerous two-footed tackle.

But despite being down to ten the visitors continued to press with Ricky Watts and Elliot Thomas both missing decent chances.

Wilson scores opener


Jack Wilson broke the deadlock in the 25th minute as the teenager latched onto a route one ball and rounded the keeper.

Right on the stroke of half time  the Bluebirds conceded at a corner where Nathan McNeil powered home a header.

Hurlow strikes twice


After the break  the homesters scored twice through Hurlow, he beat Leon Luby and tucked in at the near post, then added the third when the visitors failed to clear at a corner and paid the price.

Skipper Sean Pemberton powered a header  over the crossbar at a corner, and in the 85th minute, Wilson was fouled inside the box, before Elliot Scotcher stepped up to drill in the resulting penalty.

“We played some good stuff in the first half,” said manager Wayne Jones.
“But did we deserve anything from the game? Then probably not.”

Next Saturday, Haverfordwest County entertain Taffs Well at the Conygar Bridge Meadow, where kick off is at 2.30pm.
