Teams from Pembrokeshire involved in league and West Wales Cup action

Clarby Roads Matthew Ellis is closely tracked by Goodwick United


At last here was plenty of thrilling league and cup action on Saturday.

There were three games completed in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division.

Clarbeston Road narrowly lost 3-4 at home against Goodwick United. Ben John, Richard Bevan (penalty) and Charlie George found the back of the net for The Road, but The Phoenix Lads secured the points with goals from Jonny Horgan, James Bryan, Nick Rees and Steff Hayes.

Narberth thrashed Saundersfoot Sports 8-2 at Jesse Road. Bagging the goals for The Bluebirds were Lloyd Hughes (3), Dafydd Wright 2, Tony Evans 2 and Karl Jones. Jack Franklin and Adam Davidson replied for the struggling Sports.

Pennar Robins drew 2-2 against St Clears at Bush Camp, Connor Roberts and Rhys Lucas netted for the homesters whilst Martin Thomas scored a brace to salvage a share of the spoils.

West Wales Intermediate Cup 


There were several West Wales Intermediate Cup Round 2 ties completed involving teams from Pembrokeshire.

Starting at Monkton Lane, Monkton Swifts won 3-1 against Llandarcy. Ben Steele was on target with a brace and Jimmy Wilkes also struck to secure an impressive win.

Fishguard Sports hammered Resolven 9-3 at Tregroes. The Sports’ goal scorers were Steve Lewis 3, Dan Morgan 2, Jake Booth 2, Matt Harries and Niall Kinsella penalty completed the rout.

Hakin United were too hot for Carmarthen Stars, The Vikings winning by a 5-0 margin, Adam John 2, Nicky Woodrow, Ashley Bevan and Leon Luby bagged the goals.

Last season’s finalists Carew narrowly lost 2-3 at home against Giants Grave despite Scott Ferney bagging a brace for the extremely disappointed Rooks.
