There was Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division action and a really good day for Pembrokeshire clubs involved in the West Wales Intermediate Cup Round 4.

Starting in the First Division, Monkton Swifts returned to the top of the table following an emphatic 6-1 victory at home against Clarbeston Road. Jimmy Russell (2), Chris Richards, Jake Seaton, Ben Nicholas and Daniel Scourfield netted for the Swifts, and Ben John replied for the visitors.

Liam Parr struck twice to earn Milford United a thoroughly deserved 2-0 win against St Clears at Marble Hall. This was only the Robins’ second win of the season, putting a broad smile on the face of manager Adrian ‘Boo’ Hutchings.

Neyland won 4-2 at home against Saundersfoot Sports. The Nomads’ scorers were Joe Charlton, Kieron Howells, Jake Booth and Henry Durrant. The Sports’ goal scorers were Jake Webster and Curtis Hurlow.

It was a cracking day for our teams involved in the West Wales Intermediate Cup; three of them have reached the quarter-finals stage.

Herbrandston lost 0-5 at home against the holders Goodwick United. Jordan Griffiths (2), Stephen Dockerty, Chris O’Sullivan and Rhys Dalling netted for the Phoenix Boys.

Malster Sports were comfortably beaten by Carew 0-4, scoring for the Rooks were Shaun Whitfield, Sam Christopher, Jordan Richards and Scott Ferney.

Merlins Bridge narrowly won 2-1 against Llandarcy at the Racecourse. Joe Leahy and Nathan Greene bagged the all-important goals for the Wizards and Andrew Phillips pulled one back in vain for the visitors.

Hakin United versus St Josephs was postponed and that will be staged next Saturday, of course, weather permitting!
