Leo Riley’s stunning free kick earned MBi Llandudno a narrow victory against struggling Haverfordwest County.

This result has kept the homesters in third position in the table, while the Bluebirds are bottom, and at present are really struggling to pick up any points.

The hosts nearly opened the scoring in the 2nd minute when Lee Thomas struck the side netting at a corner.

Jordan Follows struck a half volley for the visitors just wide of the target.
In the ninth minute Lewis Buckley tried an audacious lob from half way that went straight into the arms of Bluebirds’ goalkeeper Craig Morris.

Morris pulled off a stunning save to deny Buckley, who struck a curling effort from the edge of the 18-yard box. Minutes later and the hosts hit the Bluebirds on the counter attack as Riley shot over the crossbar.

In the 32nd minute Llandudno keeper Roberts produced an outstanding save from Luke Borrelli to deny the Bluebirds from taking the lead.

Morris pulled off another stunning save, diving at full stretch to tip Mike Williams’ long-range effort for a corner.

The Bluebirds fired a low shot wide, and then right on the stroke of half time Leo Riley scored a brilliant goal with an unstoppable direct free kick, that flew into the top corner.

In the 63rd minute the visitors had a strong penalty appeal turned down as Marc Williams went down inside the box.

Substitute Liam Dawson, on for goal scorer Riley, forced a terrific save out of Morris. In added time Wayne Jones was sent to the stands, the Bluebirds manager has only just served a two-match suspension and he could find himself in hot water with the FAW again.
