Nineteen new triathletes took part in Tenby Leisure Centre’s recent Go-Tri event where the sprint triathlon consisted of a 400m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run. Sixty participants took part in total.

The results were:

1st Overall Male – Edward Clements (54m 31s)

1st Overall Female – Bethan Phillips (1h08m 01s)

1st Male Novice – David Thompson (1h09m 38s)

1st Female Novice – Erika Hole (1h13m 55s)

Go-Tri is organised by Pembrokeshire Leisure - Pembrokeshire County Council’s leisure service - and the 2019 series is sponsored by Folly Farm.

The aim is to make triathlons accessible and achievable to all.

“All the triathlon routes are planned to ensure they are manageable for novice entrants and experienced instructors are available to help customers train,” said a spokesman.

“Some entrants start from a very low level of activity, making their first triathlon a significant achievement for them. Go-Tri can then provide a stepping stone to other triathlon events.”
