Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League kicked-off on Saturday
The Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division got underway on Saturday.
Pennar Robins were hammered
1-7 against derby rivals and last season’s champions Monkton Swifts. Ben Steele bagged a hat-trick alongside goals from team-mates Dylan Davies, Ryan Griffiths, Jimmy Walker and Martyn Carroll. The Robins’ solitary goal scorer was Rhys Lucas.
Merlins Bridge thrashed Narberth
7-2 at the Racecourse. Jordan Williams bagged a superb hat-trick against his former team-mates and Adam Hawkins was on target with a brace, plus Nathan Greene and a penalty converted by Peter Thomas completed the Wizards’ scoring. The Bluebirds replied with goals scored by Ade Jones and Ryan Williams.
Neyland heavily lost
2-6 at home against Hakin United. Patrick Bellerby was on target with a brace for The Nomads, but The Vikings secured the points with two apiece for Shane Walsh and Ryan Wilson, plus Adam John and an own goal settled the affair.
Joe Leahy grabbed two goals on his debut for Carew who won
3-0 at home against Clarbeston Road. Fraser Findlay added the third for The Rooks, then the youngster blotted his copybook when he got sent off.
Saundersfoot Sports lost
0-4 at home against new boys Fishguard Sports. Finding the back of the net for the visitors was Danny Morgan, Ieuan Llewellyn, Jordan Raymond and Matt Harries.
St Clears narrowly lost
2-3 at home against Goodwick United. Kieran O’Brien netted a brace and new signing Ben Adams also scored. William Evans and Joshua Jones scored for the rather unlucky Saints must have felt they should have at least got a draw in this tough tussle.
