Knott is spot-on for lucky Bluebirds against Ammanford

Goalkeeper Ifan Knott was Haverfordwest County’s cup hero as the goalkeeper kept his nerve to score the winning penalty against  JD Cymru South outfit Ammanford at the Recreation Ground.
 
The finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, Ricky Watts gave the JD Welsh Cymru out the lead which the held until the 80th minute when Euros Griffiths levelled matters to force the tie into penalties.
 
Tony Pennock’s men were given a tough outing with the cup tie televised on Sgorio. The Bluebirds took the lead in the 29th minute, following a goal mouth melee Watts applied the scoring touch which they held until the interval.
 
Haverfordwest County failed to add any further goals in the second period and with just ten minutes remaining the hosts equalised as Adam John, a former Hakin United player set-up Griffiths who made no mistake.
 
There was drama in the shootout, but it went down to the keepers as Ammanford’s Luke Martin missed, up stepped Knott who scored in the far corner to ensure his side are in the hat for the next round.
