High scoring games in top flight and Goodwick beat Hakin in FAW Trophy

Two goals by Connor Willis earned Angle a slender 2-1 victory against Narberth at Windmill Lane; Adam Frearson scored the visitors’ goal.

Carew won 6-4 against Monkton Swifts in a highly entertaining game. There was a brace apiece for The Rooks’ James Hinchliffe and Scott Ferney and one goal each for Jordan Williams and Ian Derbyshire. Swifts’ scorers were Luke Probert (2), Ben Nicholas and Thomas Powell.

Lamphey came out on top 4-3 in a cracking match against close neighbours Pennar Robins. Sam Southcott, Alex Lewis, Josh Dearsley and a penalty by Billy Davies secured the points, despite Pennar’s Carl Rees, Phil Thompson and Craig Asperassa finding the back of the net.

Milford United drew 1-1 with Tenby at Marble Hall. Daryl Mansbridge opened the scoring for the visitors, but Dany Raicu scored to secure a point for The Robins.

Leaders Neyland lost 4-9 against West Dragons in the highest scoring game. Nathan Greene scored four goals for the visitors alongside one apiece for team-mates Gethin Roberts, Scott Crawford, Jordan Williams, Matthew Price and Ashley Williams. The Nomads’ goal scorers were Justin Harding (2), Nathan Warlow and Keiron Howells.

There were also two games played involving teams from Pembrokeshire in the FAW Trophy Round three.

The big tie of the afternoon was at Phoenix Park where Goodwick United beat fierce rivals Hakin United 2-0. Sean Seymour Davies scored in the first half, and ten minutes before full time Jonny Horgan struck the Phoenix Lads’ second to secure their place in the next round.

Merlins Bridge lost 1-3 against Welsh League 3 opposition Trefelin BGC; Sean Jones scored the Wizards’ only goal in a game that the visitors definitely deserved to win.
