Goytre United 1 – Haverfordwest County 7


Haverfordwest County turned on the style to claim an impressive seven-goal victory against Goytre United at Glenhafod Park Stadium.

This sweet victory sees Haverfordwest County stay three points clear at the top of the table.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, a mix-up in United’s defence allowed Dan Williams to round the home keeper and score from an acute angle.

Five minutes later and the visitors doubled the lead; Kristian Speake’s cross from the left was met by a first time header by Joe Leahy, the striker marking his return to starting line-up with a goal.

On the stroke of half time and former Bluebird Dale Griffiths made no mistake from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit.

Quick –fire goals


After the break, The Bluebirds grabbed two quick-fire goals to take a grip of the game, Ricky Watts added the third with a shot cum-cross and Dan Williams added his second of the game, latching onto Steffan Williams’ by-line cut-back.

Leahy was on target with goal number five, Steffan Williams fired in the sixth at the far post from a corner.

Off the bench


In the 81st minute, Steffan Williams and Dan Williams were substituted by Charlie Davies and Leon Luby. Two minutes later and Frazer Findlay was introduced instead of Leahy.

In the 86th minute, substitute Luby nodded in the seventh goal to secure an emphatic victory for the impressive league leaders.

Next Saturday, 2nd December, Haverfordwest County are away to Pontypridd in the Welsh Cup, the kick-off is at 2.30pm.
