It’s a case of deja vu.

The rain ruined the Pembrokeshire Football league and West Wales Cup programme last Saturday - meaning the majority of teams go again this weekend. And the home sides will be keen to get matches on or the venue will be switched third time round.

Clarbeston Road and Goodwick did get their cup games played and they now make up one of just three Division 1 games scheduled.

So here go again. And yes, I'm well aware of the risk of now having things wrong twice....
 

West Wales Cup Round 2 (1.30pm):

Carew 4-2 Giants Grave

These two met at the semi final stage last year in a game Carew won 4-2.

That night Giants Grave looked organised and physical, but had no answer to Carew's attacking play when they broke at pace.

The Neath side have had a mixed start in their own Premier Division thus season and my money is on The Rooks again here.

Fishguard Sports 4-1 Resolven

The Resolven lads enjoyed their trip down to Haverfordwest Cricket Club in the last round, or more specifically, the trip back.

They'll bring a good crowd again to Fishguard I'm sure, although the hosts should have too much for a team seventh in the second tier of the Neath League.

Gors 1-6 Merlins Bridge

Bridge have been rampant in recent weeks and as cup holders, they were well accustomed to getting the job done on the road.

If they're at full strength, I don't envisage many problems against a side third bottom of the Swansea Second Division.

Hakin United 3-1 Carmarthen Stars

This won't be straightforward for Hakin against a team they had an extra time ding-dong with in the same competition a few years ago.

The Stars are second in the Carmarthenshire Premier Division, although they have lost twice in six matches.

The Vikings meanwhile, are unbeaten at The Obs thus far and I'd back them here.

Hundleton 2-3 Gorseinon Athletic

It's a shot to nothing for Hundleton this against a team currently fourth in the Carmarthenshire Premier League.

But the hosts have are an improving force and the capture of Tom Dyson has inevitably added quality.

On paper Gorseinon start favourites but I expect Hundleton to push them.



Monkton Swifts 3-2 Llandarcy

Monkton have come through every test thrown at them in league and cup so far, and face another tough task here.

Llandarcy are top of the Neath Premier after winning their top of the table clash with Bryn Rovers two weeks ago.

Joe Lewis' team though have continued the winning knack that helped them to the title last year though, and he won't want any let up.

Rhos 2-1 Kilgetty

Interesting one this.

Rhos are Neath Division One champions but have endured a poor start to the Premier Lague this season with six points from as many games.

Kilgetty are unbeaten in Division 2 in Pembrokeshire and hammered Celtic Neath 10-0 in Round 1 last Saturday, so come into this firing.

The recent pedigree of the some side still makes them favourities, but could be closer tha people envisage this.

Tumble United 2-4 Neyland

Neyland's 7-1 win over Clydach in the last round represented one of their best displays of the season.

Away from home things may be trickier, and they face a Tumble team fourth in the second tier of the Carmarthenshire League.

But with the Nomads already out the Senior Cup and the league title an unrealistic target, they will be desperate to get a run going in this.

Ynystawe Athletic v Solva - postponed until Saturday, November 16th.
 

Division 1 predictions (2pm):

Clarbeston Road 1-3 Goodwick United

In recent seasons, this has been a game Goodwick have found difficult.

Clarby returned to form with that 5-2 win over Camford Sports last Saturday and should be up for this as well.

Ex-Goodwick man Ben 'Rocky' John has been one of their form players, and grabbed the perfect hat trick last Saturday as he continues to step up and fill the void left by Jason Griffiths.

But Goodwick themselves notched a very big cup win against Rockspur Fords, and the return to fitness of James Bryan has bolstered them at the back. They also have ample weapons going forward and looked capable of counter attacking from anywhere against Rockspur.

Clarby will dig deep and make this hard for the visitors. But you'd expect Goodwick to come through it.




Narberth 4-1 Saundersfoot Sports

Narberth's last league game was back on October 5th when they enjoyed that 3-1 win at Carew.

They finally have a chance to build on that here against a Saundersfoot team who will just be relieved not to be playing one of the top four.

But they are yet to earn a point this season and will need a big display to stop the rot at Jesse Road.

Pennar Robins 2-2 St Clears

To state the obvious, a big game for both. Pennar have no points from four games, St Clears have one.

It could mean a scrappy game at Bush Camp, and one that could well in deadlock.
