Afan Lido 0 - Haverfordwest County 4

Ben Fawcett scored twice to secure Haverfordwest County a thoroughly deserved emphatic four-goal win at Afan Lido.

This was the Bluebirds’ fifth victory in a row it gave Wayne Jones’ men a perfect start to 2019.

The gaols were shared by Fawcett 2, Sean Pemberton and Tim Hicks and the Bluebirds’ camp will be happy that they kept another clean sheet.

“We played really well and thoroughly deserved our four-goal win,” said Haverfordwest County manager Wayne Jones.

“The score line could have been a far bigger margin had we finished more clinically. But overall I’m happy with the three points.”

Glancing header

The visitors opened the scoring in the 12th minute, when Fawcett glanced home an Elliot Scotcher cross.
Sean Pemberton headed in Scotcher’s corner to double his side’s lead; the skipper has impressively scored in six successive matches, not bad going for a centre back!

Fawcett was put through for the third, the teenager showing good composure by slotting in from a one-on-one.

Hicks uses his head

Fourteen minutes from full time and the rampant Bluebirds added their fourth of the afternoon. Veteran Tim Hicks headed in a corner to complete the scoring.
