County’s young footballers celebrate successful season in style

County Under 11s

Pembrokeshire County Schools’ Under 11’s Football Squad held their end of season presentation at Heatherton, where the boys had great fun on the activities before enjoying a meal of sausage and chips - and then it was on to the presentation.

County coach, Angie Nicholls, thanked the players and parents for their support over the season – where this year the squad qualified the Welsh Schools’ Finals which was held at Ystrad Mynach on their excellent playing facilities. She also thanked fellow coaches Vince Malone, Dai Davies, Bernard Steer (GK coach) for their dedication and support.

The county’s talented young players took part in some very exciting matches throughout the day, culminating in the Welsh Schools’ Final against Swansea School, and although they lost narrowly the county players deserve every credit for the way that they conducted themselves.

Each squad member was presented with a County Schools Boot Bag from former Pembrokeshire Schools’ players Dylan Rees and Lloyd Hughes. Dylan has a professional contract with Cardiff City FC while Lloyd (whose brother is in the squad) represented Wales in the Under 18’s Semi-Professional Squad. Pembrokeshire Schools FA would like to thank Charles Davies of Heatherton for his continued support.
