Huw Bevan, Brad Flood and Ball BoyClarbe Warriors played really well to win both their matches as part of this regional integrated football festival where disabled players take part with and against non-disabled players as part of the sporting inclusivity programme orchestrated by Angie Nicholls at Sport Pembrokeshire.

The games were really well refereed by Huw Bevan and Bradley Flood, who made sure play flowed and help produce entertaining football for a good crowd.

The Warriors, coached by Jason Sullivan and Del Lewis, had ace goal-grabbers in Mikey Jones and Steve Sullivan, who shared the eight goals they scored against Swansea Bravehearts and Aberystwyth All Stars to set up a tantalising match against Bridgend Herons at Penclawdd where the winners are guaranteed a place in the Welsh Regional Final.

Smooth start for the Warriors

In their first match the Warriors moved smoothly into an early two-goal led when Mikey Jones opened their account with a left-foot shot and Steve Sullivan added No 2 with a tap-in as he lurked with intent in the box.

Sullivan then beat three would-be tacklers in quick succession and slid the ball home before Jones claimed his second goal as he pounced at a corner.

Good defence and goals continue to flow

At the other end, 16 year old Clarbie keeper Sam Edge saved superbly from Peter Davies and his defence of Jack Montague, Matt Davies, Rhys Eynon and Josh George played well alongside Billy Drinkwater, Jack Surtees and Jack Sullivan in midfield.

Jones then completed his hat-trick and was just off-target with another chance before Sullivan joined him in the hat-trick stakes to round off a clear-cut victory.

Second success for gritty homesters

In their second game the Warriors beat Aber All Stars 2-1 with goals again from Mikey Jones and Steve Sullivan but one of the opposition had to be taken to hospital when he felt ill – and in other games Bridgend Herons beat the All Stars 4-0 and lost to the Bravehearts by 3-1.

So now the Warriors must wait for their match at Penclawdd before hopefully going on to the Welsh Integrated Football Final as their reward.
