Busy weekend for talented saw weightlifters

Louis, Chloe and James

There was a busy recent weekend for the Strength Academy Wales Cymru as they had weightlifters competing in an international tournament in Austria and in the British Under 17s championships.

Niamh and Chloe Chloe Hood and Niamh Roach represented Wales in Austria and both talented young lifters came fourth in their respective age categories as well as gaining a positive experience of competing on the international stage.

James Hart and Louis Thomas competed in the British U17 Championships, with both competing a year under the maximum age and performing with outstanding commitment. Louis lifted personal bests and gained fifth place in the 69kg class whilst James competed in the 85kg category and won gold.
All four athletes are now back training for their next competition to be held 1st July the Gemau Cymru, an Urdd multi-sport event held in Cardiff.
