Welsh Women’s Rugby Super Cup Quarter Final:
Whitland Ladies 83 - Barry Bombettes 0
Whitland Ladies produced a superb all-round team performance as they booked a slot in the semi finals of the Super Cup with a comprehensive win over Barry Bombettes at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn.
The pace and power of the Whitland team was too much for the Bombettes and the tries came at regular intervals in the first half, some from pace and power and others were straight off the training paddock.
Sioned shines with four tries
Sioned Harries, back from Welsh duties scored four tries. Player of the match Mari Griffiths crossed for two, her twin Caryl also grabbed one as did hooker Delyth Davies and wing Heather Rees. Full back Cath Davies added six conversions to leave the half time score at 52 – 0.
The Borderettes were able to introduce the likes of Karen Mayze, Natalie Walsh and Hannah Samson off the bench, which kept up the tempo for the second half, whilst the front row of Ceris Moyle, Davies and Aimee Jones were totally dominating the scrum.
Marie also grabs four tries and Heather claims a hat-trick
It meant that there was a constant sream of possession which resulted in two further tries from Mari Griffiths, bringing her tally to four, and a further brace for Rees to bring up her hat trick. The scoring was rounded off by veteran centre Mayze with Cath Davies adding another three conversions to leave the final score of 83-0.
