Port Talbot 0 – Haverfordwest County 0

Haverfordwest County lost further ground at the top end of the table with a poor performance against Port Talbot Town at the Genquip Stadium, Victoria Road.

Following this draw the Bluebirds are ten points behind leaders Penybont, and have played the same number of games, but are three points behind second placed Cambrian and Clydach and have two games in hand.

Chances missed

The visitors had the better of the first half; the best chances of the opening 45 fell to Elliot Thomas and Ashley Bevan, but the home keeper pulled off two saves to deny the Bluebirds.

Manager Wayne Jones will be bitterly disappointed his side failed to score, despite having most of the possession and territory.

In the second period, Kaid Mohammed side-footed wide of the target and Ben Fawcett had a stinging shot tipped over the crossbar on a frustrating day in front of goal for the visitors.

Debut for Rowe

Harry Rowe played his debut for the Bluebirds, the defender signing from Welsh Premier club Aberystwyth Town.

Next Saturday, Haverfordwest County will be hoping for better fortune at the Conygar Bridge Meadow when they entertain Cwmbran Celtic, to whom they lost 3-1 away earlier in the season.
