Pembrokeshiresport.co.uk was delighted to report that three Pembrokeshire footballers helped the Welsh Schools Under 18 team gain a creditable 1-1 draw at Northern Ireland Schools Under 18 in a Centenary Shield international played recently.

Tasker Milward pupil Alaric Jones and Pembrokeshire College student Ben Fawcett were named in the starting line-up. The hosts took the lead but the visitors soon equalised when Haverfordwest County’s left back Jones’ cross fell for Osian Jones to score.

After the break, Jack Wilson (Pembrokeshire College) came on to join his Hakin United team-mate Fawcett and Jones, and helped the Welsh Schools Under 18 secure a worthwhile point.

The talented trio will have their fingers crossed to gain selection for last two Centenary Shield fixtures for the Welsh Schools Under 18, home against England Schools on March 29, and away to Scotland Schools on April 19.
