Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League fixtures for Saturday, December 28th

Hakins Jonathan Fawcett beats Goodwicks Rhys Dalling to this header

Division 1: (kick off 2.30pm)

Carew 1-3 Merlins Bridge

Bridge have lost just once in the league this season - and they will have to be on their game here to keep it that way.

Carew's league campaign has been mixed, a record of won four lost four is proof of that, although they have lost the likes of Jack Christopher and Lloyd Hughes from last season. Zac Rowell and Iwan Izzard are also two others to have been unavailable of late.

But with a full compliment they can still trouble teams. Bridge have recently lost defender Jordan Thomas to Goodwick but have been rampant going forward, with Joe Leahy leading their goal scoring charts.

He briefly joined The Rooks this season but now they must cope with playing against him - while Adam Hawkins has also been at his best.

League form so far suggests a Bridge win.

Fishguard Sports 1-3 Goodwick United

Despite their run of form this won't be easy for Goodwick, especially if the Tregroes pitch is damp from the Christmas weather.

Like they did with Penlan Club, Fishguard will battle hard - especially given this is the first Division 1 derby between these two for almost two decades.

And with Niall Kinsella's deliveries and shooting power the visitors will have to be alert at the set piece.

But Wayne O'Sullivan's side are ticking along nicely at the moment and are negotiating tough tests. Two of their biggest wins this season, over Rockspur and then Bridge in the West Wales Cup, also came in adverse conditions. So they won't be fazed by digging in.

I'll go away win again.

Ben Steele scored for the high flying Monkton Swifts

Hakin United 2-2 Monkton Swifts

Changed my mind several times here.

When Monkton last came to Hakin they were chasing the 2018/19 title and won convincingly. They sit on seven wins from seven this season but this is their toughest league test yet.

Hakin themselves have lost just once in Division 1 but have won every league and cup game at The Obs. But crucially, they are missing the suspended Adam John and Jaden Chapman on Saturday while Nicky Woodrow has been out for weeks with a groin injury.

Monkton themselves will be without Chris Richards (suspended) but came through with 10 men at Carew before Christmas, and the form of former Viking Ben Steele has been crucial to them thus far.

A win for either would be a big three points. So ironically, I can see them cancelling each other out.

Neyland 2-1 Narberth

Neyland have games in hand but are precariously placed, just one point above the drop zone.

But they have hit some form recently, albeit it in the West Wales Cup.

Jason Griffiths has picked up where he left off at Clarby and young keeper Jake Payne is improving rapidly.

The Nomads need a result here against Narberth - who steadied the ship with three points over St Clears before Christmas following a poor few weeks. Jay Gouldingay's first goal for the club in Division 1 helped with that 2-1 win.

In terms of the table this score prediction may be a surprise one, but I expect the home side to put everything into this and build on recent momentum.

Saundersfoot Sports 0-2 Pennar Robins

This is a big one at the bottom.

Saundersfoot are yet to have a point and are not scoring any goals of late either, but they simply have to find something here. Pennar have four points after beating Narberth in December with that dramatic Dano Kitts winner, they fought well at Goodwick too.

Should Chris Lloyd's men win and other results go their way they could be five points clear of the drop zone by Saturday night, and seven ahead of Saundersfoot themselves.

And I can see the away side edging this.

St Clears 2-4 Clarbeston Road

Another team in the mire is St Clears, although they would have felt they could have had something in that mentioned Narberth defeat.

At least they had Sean Seymour-Davies back scoring but like Saundersfoot, they now need a win from somewhere. Clarby have been up and down as usual but before Christmas were starting to look settled.

Jac Pepper and Keegan Summers have both arrived from Fishguard and their form player this season, Ben John, continues to get goals.

If on form, I think they'll take the three points here.
