Hakin United and Goodwick United have progressed in FAW Trophy and there were six games completed in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League despite heavy rain on Saturday afternoon.

A Justin Harding brace and a solitary Ben Steele goal earned Hakin United a brilliant 3-2 victory at Caerphilly Athletic and secured their place in the next round of the FAW Trophy. There was also good news for Goodwick United who won 1-0 at Ynyseddu Welfare, Adam Raymond scored the only goal of the tie, and United goalkeeper James Gwilt pulled off a superb penalty save to deny an equaliser as the Phoenix Lads are placed in the hat for the next round.

In First Division, Narberth took advantage to move up to second in the table with a 4-1 victory against Neyland at Jesse Road. Jordan Williams, re-signed from West Dragons, marked his return with a brace alongside goals from Ben John and Dafydd Wright; Jonny Harris scored the Nomads’ only goal.

Third placed Merlins Bridge won 4-2 against Herbrandston at the Racecourse. Nathan Greene, who made his West Wales debut in a 2-1 win against Gwent in midweek, followed up with a brilliant hat-trick for The Wizards, Stephen McNabney also found the back of the net for the homesters. In reply, Scott Reid and Marc Gelona scored for battling Herbie.

Fifth placed Monkton Swifts won 2-1 against West Dragons at Monkton Lane. The Swifts’ scorers were James Russell and Blake James, and Scott Crawford netted for the disappointed visitors.

Angle drew 1-1 with close neighbours Pennar Robins at Windmill Lane, Josh Clark netted for the homesters and Luke Phillips scored to secure a point for Pennar.

Lamphey drew 1-1 at home against bottom of the table Milford United. Nico Morrison scored for The Stags and Will Goodall netted to secure the first point of the season for The Robins.

There was a cracking game at Clarbeston Road where the home outfit won 6-5 against Carew.
