Football is back with plenty of goals in First Division

THERE were some high scoring games in the first Saturday of the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division.

Starting at Carew where the Rooks destroyed Clarbeston Road 11-1. Bagging the goals for the homesters were Sam Christopher (2), Jordan Richards (2), Sean Whitfield (2), Jack Christopher, Iwan Izzard, Alex Bailey, Lloyd Hughes and James Hinchliffe. Jason Griffiths scored a consolation for The Road.

Herbrandston drew 1-1 at home with Neyland. Adrian Rees gave Herbie the lead, but Micke Chandler struck a late equaliser for The Nomads.

Lamphey suffered a heavy 1-7 defeat at home to Merlins Bridge. Adi Jones gave The Stags the lead, but The Wizards fought back with goals by Nathan Greene (3), Ashley Beck (2) and Will Haworth.

Sean Whitfield also bagged two goals for The RooksMilford United lost 1-5 at home against Monkton Swifts. Finding the back of the net for The Swifts were James Russell (2), Ben Steele, Chris Richards and Dylan Davies. Lewys Tee bagged The Robins’ solitary effort.

Narberth suffered a slender 0-2 defeat at home against reigning champions Hakin United. Daniel Armstrong and Mark Jones were on target for The Vikings.

Ben Adams scored four goals for Pennar Robins who beat Saundersfoot Sports 6-4 in a high scoring clash at Bush Camp. Josh Dearsley and Thomas Grimwood also scored for Pennar, whilst Euan Laidlaw, Ryan Howells, Geoff Marsh and Richy Cope scored for The Sports.

New boys St Clears lost 2-4 at home against Goodwick United. Jordan Griffiths (2), Steven Dockerty and Matty Delaney scored for the visitors and on target for The Saints were Josh Jones and Nathan Evans
