Vikings put on a five-star show to defeat battling Sports

 

Fishguard Sports 1 – Hakin United 5

 
Hakin United gained a comfortable five-goal victory against battling Fishguard Sports at Tregroes Ground.
The Vikings led 3-0 at half time and continued to get the better of the Sports in the second half to pick up three valuable points.

Scott Davies’ Vikings are currently nine points behind leaders Goodwick United and have two games in hand.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Mark Jones benefitted from Mark Jones’ assist.
Before the half time break, Camron Thomas added the second plus Shane Walsh was on target with the third.

In the 62nd minute Jack Britton set up Ben Aldred who made no mistake with the fourth.

On the 80-minute mark the Sports pulled one back when the impressive Sean Seymour-Davies beat Sam Franklin from an acute angle.

However, the Vikings had the final say with the goal of the afternoon as Britton struck a 30-yard screamer which flew into the top corner. It left Sports’ goalkeeper Gareth Mathias clutching fresh air.

Deadly Carroll is on song with stunning hat-trick against Tish

Man of the match Declan Carroll helped Monkton Swifts come from behind to secure victory over St Ishmaels at Monkton Lane.

The former Welsh League star (formerly played for Haverfordwest County and Carmarthen Town) bagged a superb hat-trick alongside a brace by Dylan Brace and one from Blake James who secured the Swifts’ third win of the season, this result sees them go six points clear of the relegation zone.

The hosts bagged a goal in the fourth minute as Dylan Davies set-up Carroll from inside the box.

On the ten-minute mark the visitors got back on level terms as Adam Kingsbeer played in Kieran Randell.
In the 32nd minute Tish added their second goal as Brennan Devonald hit the back of Tom Gullam’s net, it gave the visitors a slender 2-1 half time cushion.

Shortly after the break saw Carroll bag his second goal to square matters, the hosts began to get the upper hand as Blake James fired in his side’s third goal.

In the 69th minute Carroll was on target with the fourth to mark his brilliant hat-trick.

The Swifts finished the game strongly as Tish were kept constantly on the backfoot, it was Dylan Davies who completed a good game by adding two further goals to put the Swifts well out of sight.
