Greg Brown in possession for Clarby Road against Wizards

Road and Bridge settle for point apiece

Clarbeston Road 1 – Merlins Bridge 1

Clarbeston Road came from behind to secure a draw with close neighbours Merlins Bridge at Knock Field.
The Wizards started the game well and were rewarded with an early goal which was scored by Matthew D’Ivry with a terrific left footed strike.

D’Ivry who played most of his career as a defender but was forced to play up front for this clash, he could not have got off to a better start as he lashed home from the edge of the 18-yard box much to the pleasure of manager Gareth ‘Taffy’ Williams.

The Wizards managed to hold onto their slender 1-0 cushion till half time, but the hosts were causing the visitors problems with Ben John and Jason Griffiths both went close to scoring.

After the break it was a keenly contested tussle, but the Road level matters on the hour mark as Charlie George drilled in past James Dickson.

There were no further goals as both teams settled for a draw which was probably the right outcome on the day.

Vikings beat Swifts to stay in title race

Monkton Swifts 1 – Hakin United 3

Hakin United was delighted to come away from Monkton Lane with a deserved win against the Swifts.

Vikings manager Scott Davies will be pleased his team maintained their winning streak; they are still nine points behind leaders Goodwick.

In the 14th minute the visitors opened their goal scoring account, Camron Thomas’ cross found Mark Jones who made no mistake.

The Swifts pressed but could find no way through a resilient Vikings defence as the score stood at 0-0 at half time.

In the 62nd minute the visitors doubled their lead when Shane Walsh found the back of the net thanks to an assist from Leon Luby.

However, four minutes later the Swifts responded positively as striker Dylan Davies struck which got his team back in the game.

Narberth 0 – Carew 12

The Bluebirds are having a tough time as they sit bottom of the table without a point, on Saturday this game was totally one-way traffic as the Rooks banged in twelve goals without reply.

The visitors led 4-0 at half time, but the floodgates opened in the second period as Rob Scourfield’s team added a further eight goals.

On fire Muskett scored four goals in the first period the last of which was from the penalty spot.

After the break, Dylan Morgan struck the fifth, Muskett added a further three goals before James Hinchliffe struck the ninth.

In the fifth minute the visitors got off to a flyer as Joe Buckle set-up Billy Davies who found the back of the net.

Nomads earn point to move out of relegation zone

Pennar Robins 2 – Neyland 2

Both Pennar and Neyland felt they could have won this clash as it ended in a draw at Bush Camp.

The Nomads will have been pleased that this hard-earned point moved them out of the relegation zone following St Ishmaels heavy defeat at league leaders Goodwick.

The hosts too the lead in the sixth minute as Nick Willis profited from Noah Davison’s assist.

The Nomads then began to dominate and were rewarded in the 23rd minute as veteran Paul Hannon teed-up Mike Chandler for the equaliser.

Two minutes later the hosts bagged their second goal of the game to take the lead, goal scorer Chandler assisted for Max Bowman-Davies to hit the back of the net.

Bur the Robins refused to lie down as they squared matters through Jack Phillips who was played in by Tom Grimwood.

Incredibly there were no further goals scored in the second period as both teams had to settle for a point.

Four-star Dalling ensures Tish pay the penalty

Goodwick United 7 - St Ishmaels 0

Rhys Dalling responded to an early penalty miss to strike four second-half goals as Goodwick returned to action with a rout of St Ishmaels.

The league leaders were in action for the first time since December 11, when they won at Tish 10-1, and this game followed a similar pattern despite the away side getting an early lifeline.

The hosts were awarded an early penalty when Kieran Rendell was adjudged to have taken out Nathan Greene just inside the area - but Dalling's spot kick was superbly saved by Brennan Devonald as the keeper flung himself low to his left.

After eight minutes the first goal did come though, Jordan Griffiths latching into the long ball over the top and stabbing a shot home.

Tish tried to respond as Joel Morgan won a free kick on the edge of the box, but Adam Kingsbeer duly fired well over - and then on the 20-minute mark it was 2-0 as Dalling's cross was turned into his own net by Tom Llewellyn.

Moments later it was 3-0 after Griffiths flicked a Greene cross onto the bar - but with Devonald stranded, followed up to tap in the rebound.

Devonald prevented further damage before the break, denying Greene after his incise one-two with Dan James.

Early in the second half Dalling put the game beyond doubt after being teed up by Luke Hayward, and then made it five after cutting into the box and placing a low left foot shot into the bottom corner.

His hat-trick came when he nodded in from Hayward's wide in-swinging free kick, and then late on he added a fourth after going clean through and side footing a shot beyond Devonald's reach.

Greene was also in on goal late on but was denied from close range by the keeper, who came out with credit despite conceding seven, and in injury time Tish were denied a moment of their own when Joel Morgan fired against the bar.

The win kept Wayne O'Sullivan's side nine points clear of Hakin, albeit having played two games more, while a bad day for Tish was compounded by Neyland's draw with Pennar - meaning they dropped back into the bottom two.

"It was good to get back out playing as we need the game time at the moment," said Goodwick coaching member Ben Leahy.

"It could have been more in the end, but it was a clean sheet for the first time in a while. We have to keep building that goal difference up as far as we can as that may come into it."

Goodwick United: K. Marsh, L. Tobin, S. O’Sullivan, J. Thomas, S. Delaney, L. Hayward, R. Dalling, K. O’Brien, N. Greene, J. Griffiths, D. James. Subs: S. Hayes, R. Morgans, S. Dockerty.

St Ishmaels: B. Devonald, T. Llewellin, M. Cheshire, K. Rendell, M. Evans, J. Morgan, A. Kingsbeer, T. Sheil, O. Lawrie, N. Thomas, I. Hawkins. Subs: D. Ninnis, A. Algieri, A. Johnson.
