There was only one game played in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division on Saturday, the rest of the top teams were involved in cup competitions.
Carew gained an emphatic
4-1 win against stunned West Dragons at home. Grabbing the goals for The Rooks were Scott Ferney, James Hinchliffe, Morgan Scourfield and Zac Rowell. The only goal the visitors could muster was through striker Ashley Prior. This excellent win for The Rooks sees them move joint top with Neyland, the latter have a better goals difference.
Three Pembrokeshire teams were involved in the FAW Trophy second round; all three successfully won and progressed into the third round of the competition.
A Peter Thomas penalty and Luke Hayward strike either side of half time ensured Merlins Bridge won
2-0 at Port Talbot Premier League Division FC Porthcawl.
Goodwick United gained a convincing
4-0 victory against Swansea Senior League Division One Rockspur at Phoenix Park. Talented young striker Jordan Griffiths netted a hat-trick alongside a Kieran O’Brien strike.
Hakin United claimed a narrow
2-1 victory against South Wales Alliance Premier Division FC Porthcawl.
Ben Steele and Daniel Armstrong scored the all-important goals for The Vikings.
