Medal Winners:

Fishguard Sports AFC recently hosted the South West Wales Disability League Festival at Tregroes Park, Fishguard. 
 
Over 90 players participated from Bridgend Herons, Aberystwyth Stars, Swansea Bravehearts and Cleddau Warriors. 
 
The teams played in three ability bandings, Champions League, Premiership and Championship.
 
Medals were presented to the following players by referee Bernie Armstrong and Fishguard Sports coach Matthew Lamb:
 
Over 16 Championships:
Player of match – Cain Rodway – Swansea Bravehearts
Fair play award -  Keiron Sheedy - Bridgend Herons
 
Over 16 Premierships:
Player of match – Chris McFetrich – Bridgend Herons
Fair play award – Rhodri Davies – Swansea Bravehearts
 
Over 16 Champions League:
Player of match – Stephen Lloyd Davies – Bridgend Herons
Fair play award – Stephen Leicester – Aberystwyth Stars
 
Angela Miles, disability sport officer for Pembrokeshire County Council, presented Fishguard Sports AFC with the Disability Sport Wales insport ribbon award at the event. The award recognises clubs that develop inclusive provision, opportunity and practices to ensure that disabled people can access the level of participation and performance they require.
   
Angela praised the club for achieving the award. “This is a great accolade for Fishguard AFC and very well-deserved,” she said.
 
The club has been running a junior disability section and is intending to expand it to young people (aged 16+) and adults in the New Year.
