Scorers: John Laugharne & Teagan Cartwright

Neyland made it four wins out of four to beat Cresselly by five wickets at The Athletic Ground in this top of the table clash as Paul Murray again topped the batting polls with a peerless innings of 76 not out.

But it was Cresselly who were asked to bat first and they had a good start of 49 via Dan Sutton (30) and Adam Chandler, who anchored the innings with 64 not out alongside cameos from Iwan Izzard (31) and Phil Williams (14).

But no-one was able to continue those innings and they ended up on 167 for 6 as Andrew Miller’s slow stuff earned him figures of 4 for 34, assisted by Henry Durrant (1 for 44) and Nathan Banner (1 for 31).

Then Murray took control as he launched three big sixes and nine fours and with support from Nathan banner (37) and Nick Koomen (22) they reached their target in 40 overs despite the efforts of Sutton (2 for 34), Tom Arthur (1 for 28), Ryan Lewis (1 for 23) and Sion Jenkins (1 for 31).

Town too strong for struggling Johnston

Johnston (125 all out) lost to Haverfordwest (126 for 1) by 9 wickets

Umpires: Allan Hansen & Simon Richards
Scorers: Gracie Morris & Jayne Cole

Johnston won the toss at Glebelands and elected to bat first against Haverfordwest but after a bad start did well to reach 125 all out, a total which was unlikely to fully test The Town’s batting line-up with Simon Holliday continuing his purple patch with the bat.

Two early wickets for Adam James (2 for 12) saw Johnston lurch to 8 for 3 but a gritty 34 not out by Liam James, plus 13 apiece from Hafiz Mahmood and Chris Goodridge helped them against Holliday (2 for 27), Lee Summons (2 for 27) and Kieran O’Connor (2 for 15).

The Town lost Jake Merry cheaply to Kevin Roberts but it was to be the only wicket of the innings as Lee Summons came in at No 3 and hit four fours and a six in his unbeaten 34 in an unbroken stand of 111 with Holliday , who stroked 12 fours and a six in his 81 not out.

Tish hold on but Whitland take the points

Whitland (220 for 6) drew with St Ishmaels (134 for 9)

Umpires: Denis Chiffi & Dave Brandon
Scorers: Ann-Marie Jenkins & Wendy Bradshaw

St Ishmaels held on for the draw in a tense finish at Whitland but it was the home side who finished by taking all the bonus points on offer as Tish were still 86 runs in arrears.

Matthew ‘Titch’ Davies led the Whitland batting with a typically effervescent 80 not out as he shared in a partnership of 126 with Iestyn Scourfield (56), whilst Nathan Evans (35) and Dylan Blain 91114) also made contributions to their 220 for 6.

Andrew Palmer (3 for 40) was the pick of the Tish bowlers, with a wicket apiece for Andrew Williams and Jordan Milich.

Palmer also top-scored with 27 but Tish were always behind the run rate after Dan Howells departed for 35, with only Harry Nicholas (15 not out) making any sort of impact thereafter against Ben Harvey (4 for 27), Matthew Davies (1 for 19) and Blain (4 for 45) taking the wickets for Whitland.

Scorers: Hazel Poole, George and Harry Twigg

There were runs galore at Kingsmoor as Kilgetty batted first to reach a very strong 225 for 5 before Llangwm batted sensibly and finally earned the draw with 196 for 8.

Kurtis Marsh top scored for Kilgetty with a stylish 82, assisted by Jack Parkinson, who carried his bat for 51 runs, Toby Poole (27), Kyle Marsh 915) and a quick-fire 40 by Ross Hardy as Chris Inward (2 for 58) and Phil Llewellyn (1 for 46) bowled well for Llangwm.

Will Beresford (39), Llewellyn (27), Joseph Kiff (25), Luke Brock (27) and James Venables (17) batted well for the visitors but were unable to contribute that vital big score needed and it was left to Richard Brock (41 not out) to take them to safety.

Lawrenny (158 all out) beat Burton (131 all out) by 27 runs

Harry Thomas - bowled and batted well for LawrennyUmpires: Dave Bonner & Tony Waldeis
Scorers: Malcolm Thomas & Dennis Venables

A good all-round performance by Rob Williams helped Lawrenny to their second victory of the season against a Burton side which was in the game for long periods but struggled late on with the bat.

Williams had a late cameo of 27 not out and then claimed four wickets after Harry Thomas (39), Simon Cole (38), and  James Phillips (24) had helped Lawrenny to a respectable 158 against the Burton bowling of James Davies (2 for 55), Johnny Scale (2 for 23), Morgan Scale (4 for 47) and Luke Hayman (1 for 3).

Morgan Scale (27) and Richard Jones (37) were the main contributors to Burton’s reply but Williams was joined by Harry Thomas (3 for 21), Brad McDermott-Jenkins (2 for 35) and Jamie Lewis (1 for 26) in bowling well enough to ensure Burton falling short of victory.

Division Two:

Carew continue their winning streak

Carew (115 for 3) beat Stackpole (112 all out) by 7 wickets

Rob Mathias - 62 not out in vain for StackpoleCarew made it four wins in as many matches to sit 24 points atop the section table as they dismissed Stackpole for 112 in the 36th over and then took only 28 overs to reach their target for the loss of only three wickets.

Stackpole’s main run-getters were Rob Mathias (62 not out) and Lewys Gibby (23) but Max Brindley (3 for 23), Shaun Whitfield (3 for 18), Tom Davies (1 for 18), Jacob Knox (2 for 29) and Ceri Brace (1 for 19) kept pegging them back as Mathias battled bravely away at the other end.

Nick Scourfield looked in good form for Carew with 49 not out alongside Nick Davies (16) and Brindley (19) before Tom Scourfield (17 not out) joined his namesake Nick in taking Carew to a deserved win as Richard Mackay claimed 2 for 27 and Gibby (1 for 22) in the Stackpole camp.

Hook move into second spot

Hook (102 for 5) beat Saundersfoot (101 all out) by 5 wickets

Jonathan Willington - four wickets for HookScorers: Joy James & Adge John

Hook moved into second place in the table after beating Saundersfoot by five wickets after a solid all-round team performance which saw the visitors lose for the first time.

Good bowling by Jonathan Willington (4 for 24) and Dave Hopkins (4 for 12) meant that Stackpole were restricted to 101 all out in the penultimate over as there was also a wicket each for George James and Brennan Martin as only Steve Cook (22) and John Mansbridge (22 not out) made any impact with the bat for The Seasiders.

Jamie Phelps (39 not out) used his experience to good effect as he led the Hook batting alongside useful cameos from Jacob Lay (27), George James (18) and Bradley Flood (16) so that they were home and dry in only 22 overs.

Loui looks good on The Racecourse

Haverfordwest 2nds (107 all out) lost to Narberth (110 for 4) by 6 wickets

Umpires: Richard Merriman & Les Hastings
Scorers: Kelly Williams & Emma Richards

Narberth stay in contention at the top of the table after a comfortable win on The Racecourse against Haverfordwest Seconds, where Loui Davies caught the eye with a superb spell of bowling and his brother Kyle Quartermaine top scored with 48 runs.

Davies ended up with 5 for 21 as he made The Town batsman play and miss on a regular basis as Rhodri Dyer (2 for 13) and Lewis Hough (2 for 31) showed what youthful talent Narberth have so that only Town skipper Nigel Morgan (35) and Josh Hicks (25) ever stayed long.

Then Narberth had that powerful innings by Kyle Quartermaine and brother Ben became the third member of the family to feature with 12 not out after Hough (14) had also looked good and skipper Jordan Howell chipped in with an unbeaten 18 as Lewis Rhead, Clive Tucker, Sanjaya Gurang and Simon Williams all claimed a wicket each for Haverfordwest

‘Jenks’ helps Cresselly to dramatic tie

Cresselly 2nds (192 for 7) tied with Llechryd (192 for 7)

Umpires: Huw Davies & Sutha Siva

Steffan Jenkins dramatic run out earned his team a drawThere was a dramatic finish at Cresselly as the club’s second string battled to a dramatic tie against Llechryd as the visitors needed just a single off the last ball but veteran fast bowler Steffan Jenkins kept his cool and a run out ensued which saw the spoils well and truly shared!

Jenkins had played an integral role because when he came in to bat at No 7 his team stood at 47 for 5 but a cracking 72 not out helped them to their big total, with help from Matthew Lewis (33) and Nick Jones (35) against the bowling of Peter Betterley (3 for 25), Nick North (1 for 14), John Curran (1 for 38) and Graham Keen (1 for 14).

After tea John Curran again showed what an asset he is with Llechryd’s top score of 72 not out alongside Dewi Davies (51) against Jenkins (2 for 22), Matthew Webb (1 for 18), Matthew Lewis (1 for 28) and Morgan Lewis (1 for 32).

It looked as if Cresselly had thrown the game away as a mix up on the penultimate delivery gifted the visitors two runs – but Llechryd were unable to capitalise and the game ended all-square!

Pembroke pick up their first win

Pembroke (142 for 5) beat Whitland 2nds (70 all out) by 72 runs

Umpire: Bob Elliott
Scorers:  Rob Benjamin (Whitland)

Jonathan Rogers - 5 wicket haul for PembrokeExcellent performances by Paul White (bat) and Jonathan Rogers (ball) earned Pembroke a first win under the leadership of new skipper Jack Harries as they built a decent total of 142 for 5 and shot out Whitland seconds for a paltry 72 runs.

Andrew Hay made a welcome return with 36 alongside brother Phil (26) and the indomitable Barry Evans (30) before ‘Chalkie’ White’s undefeated 43 gave them something to bowl at despite the efforts of Dai Lee (2 for 33), Wayne Howells 91 for 24), James Thomas (1 for 7) and Stuart Harries (1 for 44) in the Whitland cause.

Then Jonathan Rogers steamed in with 5 for 30 in his 12 overs and Evans claimed (2 for 11) and Sam Davies (2 for 8) to give their side a very welcome 28 points and a rapid climb to sixth place in the table.
