Joe Kiff led the Llangwm batting with five fours and five sixes in his stylish 77, supported by Noah Davies (26), Jonathan Kiff (33) and Luke Brock (33), with Peter Betterley 91 for 31), James Betterley (1 for 47), Graham Keen (3 for 77), Leighton O’Connor (2 for 58) and John Lewis (1 for 27) as the Llechryd wicket-takers.

James Caine - powerful hitting helped Saundersfoot beat Haverfordwest SecondsUmpires: Trefor Evans & Robert Ridge
Scorers: Kelly Williams & Adge John

Saundersfoot proved too strong for a weakened Haverfordwest Seconds’ side on The Racecourse, batting powerfully to set a big score and then showing patience to winkle out the home tail-enders to secure success by 66 runs.

Tom Mansbridge (58, including five fours) and James Caine (nine fours and a six in his 68) led Saundersfoot to their big score, with supporting knocks by Nick Cope (28) and Simon Stanford (34) as Ashley James was the pick of The Town’s bowlers with 4 for 47, assisted by Nigel Morgan (1 for 39), Lewis Rhead (3 for 73) and Jack Blockwell (1 for 21).

But The Seasiders overcame this loss as they fielded well with ten men and took wickets regularly to remain in the top half of the section table.

Front runners Narberth too strong for Llanrhian

Llanrhian (110 all out) lost to Narberth 110 for 2) by 8 wickets

Umpire: Robert Ridge
Scorer: Rhian Howell (Narberth)

Kyle Quartermaine ensured Narberth made light work of their run chase at Llanrhian as he blasted a half century to keep his side firmly in the promotion race.

The home side stumbled to 109 all out, as only No 3 Rhodri Owen hung around for any length of time as he made 41 (four fours and two sixes).

No 7 Ben ‘RV’ Jones did hit a maximum and three fours in his brisk 20, and Robbie Jenkins made 13 not out – but the visitors secured maximum bowling points inside 33 overs as skipper Jordan Howell led the way with 4 for 41, Ben Quartermaine took 4 for 24, youngster Loui Davies 1 for 16 and veteran Richard Howell 1 for 15 from his economical seven overs.

Llanrhian were given hope early in their reply when debutant Ryan John (1 for 30) bowled Chris Spratt for a duck, but fellow opener Richie Adams was joined by Quartermaine in a stand of 64.

The latter smashed 56 of those with six fours and three sixes, before he was skittled by Owen (1 for 28) going for another big hit.

But Adams stayed firm with 36 not out (six fours), and he was joined by captain Howell (12 not out) in steering Narberth to victory in just 16.1 overs. – but although there was on-field disappointment for Llanrhian they had a special guest in Jeremy Barton, of the Cambrian Inn, who presented the new club shirts to Llanrhian Cricket Club captain Richard Reed. The Cambrian have continued their sponsorship this year for the fifth successive season.

Close finish in high-scoring draw

Stackpole (170 for 7) drew with Burton (183 for 5)

Martin James, excellent 75 not out for Burton big hitterUmpires: Tony Scourfield & Richard Scriven
Scorer: Clare Cox

There was a tense finish at Stackpole as the home team tried to chase down Burton’s healthy total of 183 for 5 but despite some late big-hitting by John Williams the game ended with the visitors having the better of the draw.

Burton’s scored owed much to the powerhouse batting of Martin James (75 not out) whilst Morgan Scale (21) and Luke Hayman (18) gave support against very accurate bowling by Chris Gibbs (3 for 12).

Josh Davies (51) and Rob Mathias (44) formed the backbone of the Stackpole reply against Johnny Scale (1 for 32) and Aled Thomas (3 for 24) but although Williams gave them hope of a win they finished up 14 runs short of victory in an entertaining draw result.
