Divisional champions keep on winning

Carew 2nds (118 all out) lost to Llangwm (122 for 2) by 8 wickets

Umpires: Bob Elliott & Dave Bonner

Llangwm stretched their already-huge lead at the top of the table with this six-wicket success at Carew, who batted first and reached 118 in the 41st over before Ollie Davies’s team took only 17.3 overs to chase it down.

Leading the Carew batting were Scott Richards (19), Dai Rees (33), Jacob Knox (14) and Chris Cole (12) as Noah Davies (3 for 21), Matthew Kiff (2 for 25), Phil Llewellyn (3 for 33) and Ollie Davies (2 for 33) all bowled well for the visitors.

Jacob Knox and James Hinchliffe then claimed a wicket apiece for Carew but an unbroken stand of 86 between Noah Davies (29 not out) and Joseph Kiff (75) was the key factor in this victory, with Kiff at his imperious best with eight sixes along the way as Llangwm now look forward to having the silverware delivered to Pill Parks by County Club chairman Paul Webb prior to the start of their final match against Haverfordwest 2nds.

Haverfordwest 2nds (62 for 0) beat Llechryd (61 all out) by 10 wickets

Umpires: Huw Davies & Tony Waldeis
Scorer: Kelly Williams (Haverfordwest)

Haverfordwest as a club showed their eagerness to keep their second team at this level as they played a number of their first team regulars against a Llechryd side which remains in the top half of the table but found it hard going as they could only muster 61 all out thanks to James Ward (14) and Graham Keen (15 not out) against Adam James (2 for 21), Simon Williams (2 for 6), Nigel Morgan (1 for 6) and especially Kieran O’Connor, who returned fine figures of 5 for 19.

Then Dan Cole (17 not out) linked forces with Ben Field (four sixes and three fours in an undefeated 43) as The Town Seconds reached their target in just ten overs.

Llanrhian crushed by Burton batting power

Llanrhian (51 all out) lost to Burton (219 for 9) by 168 runs

Johnny Scale - broke back of Llanrhians innings with 4 for 6 haulUmpires: Neil Croucher & Simon Richards

Llanrhian’s disappointing season continued with this crushing defeat by a Burton outfit that had some strong batting performances and followed it up with their display in the field after tea.

Leading the way for Burton with some powerhouse hitting was Robbie Neil, whose 76 contained five fours and six sixes), supported by Jonathan Venables (55, including six fours) and Luke Hayman (six fours and a six in his 45).

For Llanrhian, their best bowlers were Tom Dunn (3 for 43), Dominic Wright (2 for 37) and Jack Jones (2 for 59) but they were never able to peg back the run rate for long enough periods.

Then veteran Burton bowler Johnny Scale returned excellent figures of 4 for 6 as only Llanrhian skipper Richard Read (13)  managed double figures, with Morgan Scale (2 for 17), James Davies (2 for 12) and Jack Davies (2 for 13) as the other successful Burton bowlers in such a wide margin of victory.

Whitland keep alive their hopes of staying up

Narberth (80 all out) lost to Whitland 2nds (84 for 4) by 6 wickets

Jack Bowen - helped Whitland win at Carew with 41 not outUmpires: Steve Blowes & Richard Scriven
Scorers: Richard Howell and Alys John

Whitland’s six-wicket win at Narberth kept alive their hopes of remaining in Division Two in what is turning out to be a relegation dog-fight between three clubs.

They bowled really well via Geraint Phillips (4 for 9), Matthew Davies (2 for 16) Greg Sleep (2 for 23), Gethin Scourfield (1 for 12) and Connor Bowen (1 for 16) so that only skipper Jordan Howell (29) and Ben Quartermaine managed double figures from the home club’s big-hitting brigade.

Owen Richards (2 for 5), Ben Hughes (1 for 24) and Loui Davies (1 for 23) were successful bowlers for Narberth but Jack Bowen (41 not out) found a willing ally in Gethin Scourfield (22) as Whitland won with plenty in hand.

Stackpole keep survival hopes alive

Saundersfoot (152 all out) lost to Stackpole (153 for 4) by 6 wickets

Rob Mathias - smashing 81 as Stackpole win at SaundersfootFine performances with the bat by Rob Mathias and Josh Davies, plus a canny spell of slow bowling by Simon Bevan, helped Stackpole maintain their hopes of divisional survival in what is sure to be a last-week four-team dogfight.

Bevan’s 5 for 23 spell limited Saundersfoot to 152 all out, with skipper Sam Franklin top scoring on 75 and finding support from Tom Mansbridge (40).

Mathias batted really sensibly in Stackpole’s reply, calling on his wealth of experience to score 81 and then John Davies added a vital undefeated 55 so that even useful bowling by Franklin, with figures of 3 for 12, couldn’t halt Stackpole’s march towards a deserved win.
