Bluebirds gain a deserved victory against Cefn Druids at The Rock

Cefn Druids 0 – Haverfordwest County 2
Haverfordwest County gained a thoroughly deserved victory against bottom of the table Cefn Druids to finish Phase One with a crucial three points as they sit second from bottom, only a point behind Barry Town United.
Earlier in the season The Bluebirds beat The Druids 2-1 at the Bridge Meadow, so it was paramount they came away from The Rock with a confidence-boosting win to complete the double.
Goals from Alhagi Touray Sisay and Jack Wilson ensured that manager Nicky Hayen savoured the feeling of success the first time in the dugout since his appointment.
The Bluebirds were delighted to welcome back defenders Jazz Richards and Alaric Jones whilst Touray Sisay partnered Jordan Davies up front in the starting line-up.
Only five minutes into the game Jordan Davies needed treatment after receiving a heavy knock.
Two quick fire goals
However, it was the Bluebirds who scored two goals in as many minutes to take control. In the 16
th minute Touray Sisay found the back of the net, with the very next attack Wilson struck a 25-yard screamer which flew in the top corner.
Jazz Richards picked up a yellow card for a rash challenge on Garratt, midfielder Kieran Lewis picked up an injury and was replaced by Ricky Watts as the visitors deservedly led 2-0 at the break.
Shortly after the break The Bluebirds continued to press as Dan Williams fired a shot wide from distance.
In the 54
th minute the visitors were unlucky not to add a third when Davies found Watts, who in turn crossed for Touray Sisay, who headed against the woodwork.
Alaric headers against crossbar
The game became a little scrappy as the Bluebirds brought on Ryan George for Jazz Richards, and Ben Fawcett came on for goal scorer Sisay.
Five minutes from full time, Alaric Jones headed against the crossbar from an Elliot Scotcher cross from the left.
There was also time for Caleb Hughes and Alex Worley to make their Bluebirds’ debuts as they replaced Jack Wilson and Dan Williams respectively.
