Bluebirds are too hot for Cambrian and Clydach

Tim Hicks scores his sides third

JD Cymru South:

Haverfordwest County 4 – Cambrian & Clydach 1

Haverfordwest County gained an impressive four-goal victory against mid-table Cambrian and Clydach at the Bridge Meadow.

The Bluebirds have impressively stretched their unbeaten run to seven games following this excellent display, the goals were shared by Jack Britton, Marcus Griffiths, Tim Hicks and Jack Wilson.

Wayne Jones’ troops led 2-1 at the break and they completely dominated possession and territory to add two further goals in the second half as they ran out comfortable winners.

It was the visitors who took the lead when Liam Reed scored with a terrific strike which beat and wrong footed Bluebirds keeper Kelland Absalom who was making his first home appearance, but the hosts immediately struck through a superb 25-yard strike which flew in the top corner from man of the match Jack Britton, who was making his first start of the season.

Just before the break the Bluebirds took the lead, Ben Fawcett slipped a clever through ball to co-striker Marcus Griffiths who easily slotted past Cameron Clarke.

In the second half the home out continued to dominate affairs and were rewarded with a well taken third through assistant player/manager Tim Hicks who got on the end of Marcus Griffiths’ accurate cross from the right.

Jack Wilson was on target with the fourth to wrap things up, a swift counter attack allowed the substitute to break clear and he neatly tucked his low shot in the far corner.
