Neilson Cole

Neilson Cole        32    Teacher

Neilson has played in four previous finals but this will be his first as captain, something he is clearly very honoured to have achieved. He is rightly regarded as one of the top three wicketkeepers in the county and a useful batsman who plays himself down the order with so many power hitters at his disposal – and has adapted well to setting the field from behind the stumps and using his range of bowlers well!

Adam Chandler

Adam Chandler    34    Architect

Adam is undoubtedly the lynch pin of the Cresselly batting and a superb accumulator of runs over a long period. Scored 44 in the semi-final and stroked his way to 123 not out against both Johnston and Tish in league games, as well as 88 not out against old rivals Carew. If he goes well in both innings then Cresselly will surely achieve big scores!

Alex Bailey

Alex Bailey        22    Warehouse Manager

Alex has forced his way into the opening bat position with some powerful hitting that saw him score 44 in the previous round and an 81 versus Pembroke Dock in the Duggie Morris competition. He is one of the new breed of dynamic batsmen in the club who is sure to serve the club well for the next decade and making his Bowl final debut.

Iwan Izzard

Iwan Izzard        22    Self Employed

A key member of the Cresselly batting line-up with his ability to take bowlers apart but his place in the final is uncertain because his sister is getting married – to team mate Sion Jenkins! Iwan has grown into his place in the top three of the batting and showed his power with 47 in the semi-final alongside a massive 129 not out against Haverfordwest just a few short weeks ago!

Simon Cole

Simon Cole        37    Policeman

‘Snowy’ is still one of the most respected cricketers in the county and for so many years this stylish left-hander was the main run-gatherer at Cresselly - and still showing his ability to score quick runs, with league scores of 96 against Johnston and 56 against Whitland. He has the added bonus of being able to tie opposing batsmen down with his canny slow stuff and as a former captain is able to put that experience to good effect with another Cole as skipper!!

Phil Williams

Phil Williams        35    Teacher

‘Taffy’ is another former club captain and opening bat for many years who has now adapted to life in the middle order, where he is more than capable of scoring vital runs at key times, as he showed with 40 runs in an earlier round – and with 47 not out against Haverfordwest in a recent easy win. An astute skipper who is able to offer sound advice when asked by his captain and another very popular player with team mates and opponents alike.

Ryan Lewis

Ryan Lewis         39    Engineer

Although he is now the oldest player in the team, Ryan is a vital member because he can swing a match with his big hitting late in an innings and can tear opposing batting apart with his canny slow bowling. He certainly proved this with a man of the match performance in the semi against Llangwm, where he blitzed a late 25 not out and then grabbed 4 for 12, and in the excellent win over Neyland in the previous round he blasted 41 not out that helped swing the game Cresselly’s way.

Mike Shaw

Mike Shaw        24    Dentist

‘Flossy’ is a welcome acquisition over recent times as a very good spin bowler and useful middle order batsman who can score quickly with his ability to hit fours and sixes. In the semi-final he did just that with 18 from only ten balls and then tied the opposition in knots with his figures of 3 for 13 from his five overs. He scored 22 not out and took 4 for 22 in the previous round and has rightly earned the respect of his team mates, who chose his nickname because of his occupation!

Tom Arthur

Tom Arthur        21    Frozen Food Worker

Tom has developed into a first team regular this campaign with a string of useful bowling performances that include 5 for 32 against Lawrenny and 4 for 13 versus Whitland, using his pace and ability to gain movement off the pitch. Previously learned his trade with the second string and another one to watch at Cresselly over the next ten years.

Sam Harts

Sam Harts        24    Transport Management Operative

Sam is very much the joker of the team but has deservedly gained a regular first team spot on the back of several years of steady improvement. Sam took two wickets in the semi-final and grabbed a vital 4 for 25 against Haverfordwest to show his capabilities – and will guarantee 100% with the ball and in the field on a his Bowl Final debut.

Bobby Webb

Bobby Webb        26    Cocktail Barman

Bobby has bowled well for Cresselly since his return to the area and has the ability to use his right arm fast bowling to good effect against any batsman. He is also a very adept fielder and can wield a bat well when needed, as he has shown with Cresselly over recent times.

Matthew Webb

Matthew Webb    24         Head Chef, Plumtree Restaurant, Tavernspite

Like his older brother Bobby, Matthew has served Cresselly really well but his work in the restaurant has prevented him from making as many appearances as he would have liked. He is a more than useful bowler and batsman who will serve the club well if called into the squad.

Neal Williams

Neal Williams        50+    Gardener

Neal is a regular opening batsman in the seconds, with a string of good scores and match-winning performances in the Alec Colley Cup, with a regular place in the Welsh Over 50s team this season as proof of his ability to maintain form and fitness. If he is called into action on the day then will serve his club well!

Sion Jenkins

Sion Jenkins        29    Teacher

Sion is a very useful opening bowler whose right arm deliveries have served the club well in previous rounds but is a certainty to miss the final because of the small matter of the fact that he is getting married on the day! A super-fit athlete who loves physical challenges and an Iron Man Wales competitor to boot!
