Bright start for Becky
Becky battles really hardDay two and Becky was still playing fine golf and finished the day on a two-over par 74 which still kept her in grasp of the leaders at level par and maintaining her third spot – but over night leader Ha Rang Lee Jae was able to extend her lead by shooting a one-under par 71 to give her a total of six under par. The final day was certainly set up the hardest with weather conditions tough and the pin placements in sometimes impossible positions. But the Welsh ladies champion Becky was able to keep her nerve and return one of the better scores of the day with a three-over par 75 which over all placed her in sixth spot on a total of 219 but this has certainly kick started Becky’s chances of a Curtis Cup place in June this year as her sixth spot was the best British finish and must have been just the ticket to turn some of the British selectors’ heads.

Becky was selected by the Welsh selectors to represent Wales in the Spanish Ladies’ Open Championship held at the popular Alicante Golf Course where the best 88 players from all over Europe competed. Becky headed the charge of a possible Welsh champion in fine fashion on day one when she shot an impressive two-under par 70 which included a double bogey five on the par-three 17th hole which left her three shots behind and in third place after day one with the leader, Ha Rang Lee Jae from Spain, who took advantage of the home soil, shooting an impressive 67 - five under par.
