Cracker of a competition for swimmers!
Pembrokeshire County Swimming Performance squad dived in for a heavy medal haul at a recent event as thirteen County swimmers competed at the Portsmouth Christmas Cracker meet held in the city’s Mountbatten Centre 50-metre pool.
Medals galore!
Thirty five medals were won in total, including 12 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze – and Hannah Saunders took the top 13 year old girl title by winning four Golds. Carys Thomas achieved three national times in the 200m, 400m individual medleys and the 800m freestyle and won two Golds.
Kelsey Williams and Jordan Harding also won two Golds apiece, while Talia Merriman and Ross Sutton also came home with a Gold each. Other medal winners included Dan Thomas, Isabelle Davies and Isabel Johns.
County coach Paul’s proud
“Our top County swimmers did themselves proud,” said Paul Dowey, Swimming development coach for Pembrokeshire Leisure - the leisure services arm of Pembrokeshire County Council.
“As well as achieving a great medal haul there were also 39 personal best times out of 79 swims.”
