Gymnasts Excel in 5, 6 and 7 year old Competition
Haverfordwest Gymnastics Club entered 10 talented gymnasts into the West Area Preparation Championships held in the City of Swansea Gymnastics Centre on Sunday 20th November and they performed really well. All gymnasts had to compete on floor, vault, bars, beam and range & conditioning.
In the 5 year old category Llechau Lloyd, Molly Harries, Maisie Millichip and Tae Osborne finished in a credible 5th position as a team. Molly came 6th on vault and Llechau came 6th on bars, 5th on range and conditioning and was the highest individual for Haverfordwest finishing in 7th position.
Great performances
In the 6 year old section Ava Grug Donovan, Aine Sharpe and Scarlett Morris had success as a team, winning the silver medal. There was individual success for Aine Sharpe, who came 6th on Beam and was also crowned floor champion. Scarlett Morris excelled in this category- 4th on floor, 4th on range and conditioning, 3rd on beam was crowned bar champion and therefore took the overall bronze trophy.
In the 7 year olds, Gwen Dodd, Rhiannon Mansfield and Seren James won the team bronze medal. Gwen came 5th on vault and Rhiannon also came 5th on vault and 4th on range and conditioning. Seren James did brilliantly picking up a 2nd on range and conditioning, was crowned floor champion and as result was awarded the 5th overall medal.
All the coaches at Haverfordwest want to say how proud they are of the little stars and to keep up the excellent work.
